There's only one person who can save Christmas this year, and it's not Santa Clause. This year the fate of everyone's favorite holiday rests solely in the hands of a twelve-year-old gnome named Geronimo. Luckily, Geronimo is no ordinary gnome. With his wits and daring, he should have absolutely no trouble tracking down the evil Krampus and bringing him back to the North Pole. . .

For the past ten years Matt has worked as a Behavioral Therapist for children on the autism spectrum. He has previously published a handful of poems in a few small literary journals (G.W. Review, The Binnacle, and Hawaii Review). He is an improviser at ComedySportz and studied at Loyola Marymount University degrees in Communication and Screenwriting).

    a new holiday classic!

    Rating:
    Pros:
    • original
    • humerous
    • fun for all ages
    Cons:
I LOVED this book. It's so funny (and clean humor!). The reluctant gnome goes on a journey to save Christmas, and meets the most delightful characters along the way. It's very imaginative, and steers away from cliches. I loved the images in my mind it portrayed, like the polar bear country club and Santa's office. The Sicilian guinea pigs are pretty delightful too. The author describes the settings in such a fun way, and it's easy to get lost in the world created. There is humor in it that adults will enjoy that may go over kids heads, so that keeps it interesting and fun for us grownups while still being totally entertaining for kids. I know my 10yo nephew could read it easily. I can imagine reading it aloud to younger kids as well. It's always nice to find a funny book that doesn't resort to bathroom humor. There are some darker parts to it, like children being kidnapped by Santa's evil half brother. But nothing more scary than any fairy tale...)

It's an original, a holiday must read.
